Our Energy Trading team is currently seeking a Quantitative Demand Analyst who will be responsible for demand modeling and forecasting.  This role will be based in our Houston office.


  • Manage demand data to provide specificity on demand type (e.g., Power burn, Residential, Commercial, and Industrial for the Continental United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia)
  • Model demand sensitivity to prices to understand price setting mechanisms that drive fundamental balances
  • Analyze all datasets available that could provide edge in real time power burn demand for natural gas
  • Curate historical changes to power generation capacity to understand current and future changes to gas demand
  • Manage information on Industrial projects (new, expansions, and retirements) to inform forward expectations of industrial demand)
  • Understand the relationship between economic cycles (GDP up, GDP down) and demand
  • Quantify the impact of weather on demand and forecast weather scenarios to understand impact to estimated storage inventory.
  • Communicate with power trading group to understand areas where gas and power intersect and potential impacts on each market
  • Trade concept back-testing
  • Generate fundamental driven trade ideas
  • Contribute to general market discussion and debate


  • 3-5 years of quantitative experience in energy
  • Prior experience with demand modeling and forecasting for natural gas
  • Proficient in Python and SQL
